Dahsar Presents New Digs, Old Flame
The new collection entitled “New Digs, Old Flame” consists of 20 hats, 10 t-shirts, backpack, and magazine. We shot the lookbook in Tokyo and the fabrics consist of Japanese patterns that are made in Japan and then each piece is made in LA and Philly.
New Digs, Old Flame. New home, old lover. The sayings apart draw back from the 80s and 90s but still are being used today. The designs are based on drawings meeting new friends in old places and vice versa. Inspiration draws from Tupac, Bach, Punk posters, Cocteau Twins, Barbuzzo, John Keats, Asian Romanticism, and Blade Runner.
We shot the catalog this past October focusing on Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Harajuku. The Japanese are very stylish, have the best transportation, kind, friendly, and 711 are your savior. We went around to a good amount of bars and restaurants that are in these hidden alleys in Shinjuku but in Shabuya, our favorite spot to go to was Beat Cafe where we ran into our pal Sean Agnew and his friend Kato who was DJing bands from Veronica Falls to Ice Choir to Minor Victories.
We were also strayed from the path and followed an old flame recommended place to go. A path that guided us to discover other bars and spots too. Our other favorite spot to go to was Hachigatsu No Kujira. Its a bar that makes cocktails based on your favorite movie.
Designing for our past. New Digs, Old Flame.
